This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website. Castillo Plant Sales Ltd is the data controller for that information.
Who we are

What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry:
- Your name or company name
- Your email address and phone number
- The site postcode, where you give one, so we can price delivery
- The machine, dates and any notes you send with a hire or sales enquiry
- Standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, collected by our hosting provider for security and performance
Why we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, quote for hire or a sale, and arrange delivery or collection. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has contacted us about our services — and, where a hire or sale goes ahead, performance of a contract.
We do not sell your data, and we do not add you to a marketing list from an enquiry form without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and deliver enquiry emails:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security
- Resend — delivery of enquiry emails to our inbox
- Google — the embedded map on our contact page, and website analytics where you have consented
Each of these processes data on our instructions. We do not share your details with anyone else unless we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as they are commercially useful and then deleted. Where a hire or sale goes ahead, we keep the associated records for six years to meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Analytics cookies only load if you accept them. Full detail is in our cookie policy, and you can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it, where we have no ongoing reason to keep it
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw consent, where we relied on consent
